Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Brown Poole, 86, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born on July 10, 1935 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Clay L. Brown and Azalee Brown Brown.Mrs. Poole retired from the Hart-Franklin Training Center as an instructor with 26 years of service and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church and Mollie Brown Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Sojourners at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church and ARC Board member.

Survivors include one son: Douglas Poole (Sue) of Hartwell; one daughter: Diane P. Foster (Mike) of Lavonia; seven grandchildren: Kevin Foster (Kayla), Katie Miller (Nathan), Kody Foster (Lori), Ryan Poole (Jordan), Lance Poole (Katie) Lucas Poole, Eli Poole (Michelle), thirteen great grandchildren: Dason Foster, Kolt Foster, Kolby Foster, Kyndal Jo Foster, Rylan Miller, Mackenzie Miller, Talan Poole, Emrie Poole, Dawson Poole, Brooks Poole, Reese Poole, Mason Poole and Maddox Poole. Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Charles J. Poole; two sons: Larry Poole, Joe Poole; brothers: C.L., Berry Joe, Kendall, Herman, Bonner, Jerrold, Brown and one sister: LaRose Medlin.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Poole will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Bryce Behnke and Rev. Billy Pittman officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethesda United Methodist Church Steeple Fund, 352 Bethesda Church Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
