IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Snider
Carroll
December 27, 1930 – April 12, 2025
Mrs. Mary Snider Carroll, 94, of The Gables of Royston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.
Born on December 27, 1930, in Denton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Albert Snider and Velna Tate Snider. Mary spent the majority of her married life in the Atlanta area, where she devoted herself to her family and her home.
A gifted seamstress, Mary also excelled in a wide range of creative pursuits; including ceramics, needlepoint, crochet, and knitting. Her hands were rarely still, and the beautiful works she created were a reflection of her care, patience, and artistry. She found a special joy in crafting for her loved ones and took great pride in the details of her work.
Beyond her creative gifts, Mary was a woman of devotion and strength. For over 30 years, she lovingly cared for her son Greg following a life-altering accident—an enduring testament to her compassion and resilience.
They moved to Royston in 2016 and became members of Royston Baptist Church. Mary loved and cherished her family deeply.
She is survived by her son: Michael Carroll (Terri) of Hartwell; a brother: Al Snider of Greensboro, NC; a sister: Mildred Smith of Rocky Mount, VA; four grandchildren: Andrew Carroll (Abby) of Atlanta, Alan Carroll of Atlanta, Ansley Carroll of Denver, CO, Alyson Carroll of Atlanta; and one great-grandchild: Will Carroll.
Mrs. Carroll is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dewey C. Carroll; son: Gregory "Greg" Carroll; and three brothers: Gerald, Ken, and Clarence Snider.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
