Mrs. Mary Clark Cheshire, 86, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at her home.

Born on September 19, 1937 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Marcus Clark and Dora Ellen Hendrick Clark. Mrs. Cheshire was a seamstress for Gips Manufacturing, and was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons: Shane Cheshire and Roy Cheshire (Deborah), all of Hartwell; daughter: Marilyn C. Coe (James Kirby) of Hartwell; brother: James R. Clark (Mary Alice) of Hartwell; sister: Nell Rogers of Moultrie, GA; five grandchildren: Kelly Dye, Brandon Sanders, Devin Hambrick, Randy Cheshire, Shelley Cheshire; and eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Cheshire is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Raymond Layton Cheshire; brother: John Walker Clark; sister: Dorothy Clark; and one grandchild: Chad Sanders.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Cheshire will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Cory Pulliam officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
