Ms. Mary Annie Whitfield Evans, 90, of Hartwell, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Hart Care Center.

Born on July 24, 1931 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late James Whitfield and Selma Rowland Whitfield.Ms. Evans worked for several years as a CNA at Heritage Inn Nursing Home, where she was dedicated to her patients, a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters: Chastity Boles and Gloria Shelnut both of Hartwell; a son: James Earl Evans of Hartwell; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Nancy Rushing and a brother: Edward Whitfield.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Ms. Mary Evans will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Randall Starrett officiating.Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery.
