Mrs. Mary Ruth Fowler, 83, of 3482 Bowersville Hwy, Bowersville, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her home.
Born on June 23, 1928 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late J.D. and Eva Owens Hicks.She was a homemaker and member of Mount Olivet Church of God for over 65 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Christine Fowler of the home; and a special niece, Betty Bailey.Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Fowler; and a sister, Mildred Hicks Kelly.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. J.B. Kitts and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will follow in the Mount Olivet Church of God Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday.The family is at the home of Dan and Betty Bailey, 230 Glendale Drive, Hartwell, GA30643.
