Mrs. Mary Ann Peek Greenway, 84, of Elberton Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at home with her family by her side.

Born on August 6, 1939 in Franklin, NC, she was the daughter of the late George R. Peek and Honor Grace Cabe Peek.  Mrs. Greenway was a retired seamstress for Bellcraft Manufacturing, and a member of the Price Chapel Church of God. Mary Ann loved to garden, cook, can vegetables, bake cakes, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Fred O. Greenway of Hartwell; two daughters: Tammy Greenway Sanders of Hartwell, and Sherrie Greenway Vaughn (Bev) of Dewy Rose, GA; one brother: Isaac Peek of Canton, OH; one sister: Ruth P. McClure of Clayton, GA; five grandchildren: Brad Cleveland (Shawn), Brad Vaughn (Amber), April Vaughn Vetterkind (Scott), Eli Sanders (Sonya) and Madison Sanders; seven great-grandchildren: Keller Cleveland, Taylor Coile, Ethan Vaughn, Mason Sanders, Bryson Sanders, Makensie Sanders, and Gregory Sanders and a step-great grandchild: Abby Abernathy. Mrs. Greenway is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Leroy and Doyle Peek; and two sisters: Frances Mashburn and Evelyn Layelle.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Greenway will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Revs. Tony Franks and Jason Webb officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Price Chapel Church of God, 687 Providence Church Rd, Lavonia, GA 30553.
