Mrs. Mary Baker Madden, 82, of Lakeview Circle, Hartwell, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Hart Care Center.

Born on May 21, 1933 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Newland "N.W." Baker and Dollie Bailey Baker.Mrs. Madden was retired from Bellcraft Mfg. as a secretary, former secretary of both Lockheed Aircraft and Hartwell First United Methodist Church.She also was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son: Michael K. Madden and his wife Laura of Suwanee, GA; two grandchildren: Kevin M. Madden and Ensign Eric W. Madden, USN; one brother: Arnold Baker of Falls Church, VA; two sisters: JoAnn Altshuler of Marietta, GA and Peggy Stewart of Ila, GA. Mrs. Madden was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Madden and one brother: Jarrett Baker.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mrs. Sybil Clem officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. A reception will follow in the Hartwell First United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 noon Saturday prior to the service. The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, GA Affiliate 223 Peachtree St. Suite 225, Atlanta, GA 30303 or the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 East Howell St., Hartwell, GA 30643.
