Obituary
Mrs. Mary Helen Mewborn, 87, of Mewborn Road, Dewy Rose, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at St Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.
Born on April 9, 1929 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Ard Crook and Lottie Dickerson Crook.Mrs. Mewborn was a retired administrative assistant with the Georgia Mental Retardation Center and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son: Curtis F. Mewborn, Jr.and his wife Debbie of Dewy Rose; one daughter: Stephanie Belcher of Atlanta; four grandchildren: Brooke Belcher Robinson and her husband Rob, Robin Belcher Micou and her husband Christof, Amanda Gail Mewborn and Jenny Mewborn Sawyer and her husband Derek; and one sister-in-law: Phyllis Mewborn Adams.Mrs. Mewborn was preceded in death by her husband: Curtis F. Mewborn, Sr. and one brother: Herman Crook.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bryce Behnke and Rev. Connie Mack Bowers officiating.
The family is at the home of Curtis and Debbie Mewborn, 32 Mewborn Road, Dewy Rose.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 352 Bethesda Church Road, Hartwell GA 30643.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
