Mrs. Mary Ovylene (Hammock) Pegg, age 78, of Bowersville, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at her home.
Born April 4, 1930, in Gwinnett County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde H. & Eula B (Harper) Hammock. She was retired, having worked for many years at Hardees in Lavonia. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Rudolph Pegg; and brother: Harold Hammock.
She is survived by son: Norman Cochran of Jasper, FL; daughters: Barbara June Webb of Jackson, GA, Deidre Gale Jones of Lavonia, GA, & Wanda Christine Dyer of Bowersville, GA; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Kidwell, Rev. Johnny Stowe, and Mr. Ronnie Dyer officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of her daughter, Wanda Dyer.
