Mrs. Mary Mcllwain Reid, 80, of 1156 Nancy Hart School Rd., Hartwell, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at her daughter's home.
Born January 26, 1927 in Abbeville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew McIlwain, Jr. and Rebecca Elizabeth Sharp McIlwain.She was a homemaker, a member of Bio Baptist Church and member of the Mary Reid Sunday School Class.
Her survivors include:Daughter, Lynda R. Byrum of Hartwell, GA; One grandchild, Brannon & Sarah Byrum of Hartwell, GA; Two great grandchildren, Hayden Byrum and Roman Byrum. Sisters, Eleanor M. McKee of Gray Court, SC and Eula M. Rudd of Orem, UT; Brother, Henry McIlwain of Abbeville, SC; Sister-in-laws; Dot McIlwain of Charleston, SC and Margaret McIlwain of Abbeville, SC; She is preceded in death by:Parents; Husband, Maurice B. Reid; Son in law, Hugh T. Byrum; Grandchild, Alison Deanne Byrum; Sister, Sara Clementine McIlwain; Brothers, Lewis McIlwain, William "Bill" McIlwain, and Harold "Hack" McIlwain.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Dale Zaboroskie will officiate.Burial will be in the Bio Baptist Church Cemetery.
