Mrs. Mary Dean Singleton, age 83 of 275 Rock Springs Rd., Lavonia GA, died Thursday, January 22 at Hart County Hospital.
Born September 22, 1925 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton W. Dean and Eddie Lee Vickery Dean. She was retired from Bellcraft Mfg., and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by: sons, Ronnie Singleton of Lavonia, Ga., and Donnie Singleton of Athens, Ga., daughter, Sue Ethridge of Hartwell, Ga., brother, Larry Dean of Doyline, LA, sisters, Ann Vice of Hartwell, Ga., and Beulah Dunn of Anderson, S.C. Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Furman Doyle Singleton, son, Billy Singleton, brothers, Joel, Jim, Robert and Wayne Dean, grandson, David Singleton and great grandson, Joshua Paul Cothran.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Westbrook and Rev. Keith McKenzie will officiate. Burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes, and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
