Mrs. Mary Jessie Risner Strickland, 87, of Nancy Drive, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Hartwell Health and Rehab.

Born on November 12, 1928 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Hampton "Cut" Risner and Dora Stone Risner.Mrs. Strickland was retired as co-owner and bookkeeper of Strickland Furniture Store and a member of the Milltown Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: Harry Ned Strickland; one son: Jerry L. Strickland and his wife Diane of Hartwell; two daughters: Susan Elkins and her husband Clinton of Dawsonville, Bonita Lee and her husband Anthony of Hartwell; six grandchildren: Alex Strickland, Erik Strickland, Russel Orr, Angie Duff, Jeffrey Burney and Daven Burney and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters: Dollie Burt Risner, Lillie Mae Ricks, and Inez Overcash.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 16, 2016, 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
