Mrs. Mary Ann Wilhite Thrasher, 82, of Benson Street, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Hart Care Center.

Born on May 26, 1933 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Flora Thornton Wilhite and William Herschel Wilhite.Mrs. Thrasher was a seamstress for The Hartwell Company.She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and also attended Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Debbie Little and her husband David of Hartwell; her brother: William Wilhite and his wife Mary of Hartwell; her two sisters: Betty Shirley of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Helen O'Barr and her husband Lawrence of Hartwell; grandchildren: David Little and his wife Suzanne, Deanne Smisson and her husband Dr. Hugh Franklin Smisson III, Candice Wickersham and her husband Scott; five great grandchildren: Austin & Nicholas Little, Lauren Little, and Willow & Greenlee Wickersham. Mrs. Thrasher was preceded in death by her parents and husband Frank H. "Frankie" Thrasher.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Allen Stewart officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service.The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Building Fund, 200 E Howell St, Hartwell, GA 30643.
