Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Patterson Wood, 90, of Bowersville, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at her home.

Born on October 30, 1932 in Bowersville, GA, she was the daughter of the late J.B. Patterson and Sadie Weaver Patterson.  Mrs. Wood was a homemaker, and a member of the Lavonia Church of God where she received an honorable mention for the being the oldest member of the church.

Survivors include her two sons: Kenneth Wood & Renee, and Darrell Wood, both of Bowersville; daughter: Sheila Moncrief and Phillip of Bowersville; daughter-in-law: Kathy Wood Starrett; and ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Robert Lee Wood; one son: Larry Wood; and brother: Walton D. Patterson.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Wood will be Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
