Mrs. Maude West Ramsey, 87, of Hartwell Road, Lavonia, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her home.

Born on March 14, 1929 in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bill Shelt West and Minnie Sue Austin West.Mrs. Ramsey was a homemaker and a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church, where she was a youth Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir.

Survivors include four sons: Gary Ramsey of Lavonia, Andy Ramsey of Asheville, NC, Tommy Ramsey of Lavonia, Rusty Ramsey of Anderson; one daughter: Fonda R. Durner of Asheville, NC; sevengrandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband: James Garrett "Jim" Ramsey, Sr.She was the last surviving sibling of fourteen children.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 29, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Abundant Life Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the Abundant Life Baptist Church.The family is at their respective homes. Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Amedisys Hospice, 53 Rock Drive, Toccoa, GA 30577.
