Mrs. Maureen Barton Strang, 68, of 150 Pinecrest Drive, Hartwell, died Thursday, August 8 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born on November 17, 1944 in Elberton GA, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Barton and Mary Lou Dixon Barton.She was a retired paraprofessional from Hartwell Elementary School and a former pre-school teacher at the Sardis Pre-school.She was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, David M. Strang of Hartwell; five daughters, Debbie Smith of Anderson, Lisa Cleveland of Hartwell, Carol DiMarco of Danielsville, Laura Willis and Kelly Mize both of Hartwell; two sons, Jamie Carter and Corey Strang both of Hartwell; nineteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Strang was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Bill Carter; a great grandson: Zachary Pilgrim; two brothers, James Arthur Barton and Ernest Barton and three sisters, Mildred Hendricks, Marcile Davis and Margaret Harvell.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. R.
