Mr. Max G. Jordan, 73, of Sunset Drive, Hartwell, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home.
Born on November 30, 1943 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late Walter Jordan and Ina Byrum Jordan.Mr. Jordan was retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, where was an Environmental Compliance Officer.He also earned a master's degree from Piedmont College and was a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 68, Anderson SC.Mr. Jordan was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, the Ray Wilson SS Class and was also a former deacon, SS teacher and choir member.Mr. Jordan was an U. S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife: Jane Richardson Jordan; two children: Lisa Johnson Ashley and J. Alan Johnson, both of Easley SC; a brother: Ray T. Jordan and his wife Evelyn of Lavonia: two sisters: Peggy Teel and Brenda Jordan both of Hartwell: several nieces & nephews and his caregivers.Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Mattie Ann Jordan.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Military honors.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home.
