Mrs. May Arthurlene (Davis) Blakely, age 81, of Lavonia, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her home.
Born May 11, 1931, in Lavonia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ilone Davis.She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a retail sales person with Belk Department Store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William Pete Blakely; brothers: Howard and Champ Davis; sister-in-law: Evelyn Davis.
She is survived by daughter & son-in-law: Joan & Lamar London of Lavonia; daughter: Jill Blakely and partner Beth Emerson of Atlanta; son: Jarrett Blakely of Lavonia; grandchild: Kanler Hailey; Sister and brother-in-law Imogene & Bill Wright; and sister-in-law: Ruth Davis
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 to 8:00pm Friday June 1, 2012. At other hours the family will be at the home of Joan and Lamar London.
Flowers are optional and memorials can be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
