Mrs. Annie Merle Bratcher McLane, 85, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home.

Born on November 30, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Doc Bratcher and Oneil Carnes Bratcher. Mrs. McLane was a former weaver for Newton Mills and co-owner of McLane Farms. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dollie Teel Sunday School class and the WMU. She was also a member of the Gideons International Ladies Auxiliary, Hart Co. Camp.

Survivors include her three sons: Earl McLane of Hartwell, Bill McLane (Janice) of Canon, and Tom McLane (Angie) of Hartwell; sister: Inez Cobb of Hartwell; eight grandchildren: Keith (Jamie) McLane, Jennifer (Jeff) Carter, Allison (Brandon) Robinson, Julie McLane, Kevin McLane, Jenny (Brian) Byers, Mikal McLane, Jayce McLane; and thirteen great grandchildren: Brayden, Bryson, Carter, Carson, Jack, Bella, Savannah, Tripp, Larry, Gayvn, Zaylee, Kaden, and Kage. Mrs. McLane is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bobby A. "Bob" McLane; two brothers: Max & Kenneth Bratcher; and one great grandchild: Zachary Pilgrim.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Merle McLane will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Webb and Mr. Leslie Boles officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery
