Mr. Michael S. Allsop, 61, of 6461 Courtney Drive, Winston, GA, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Wellstar Hospital in Douglasville, GA.
Born on May 7, 1950 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of Elizabeth Cleveland Allsop and the late Robert E. Allsop.He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway's Accounting Department and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia "Patti" Stewart Allsop; two sons: Robert S. Allsop of Winston, GA and Chris Deal of Atlanta, GA; three daughters: Laura A. Scott of South Pasadena, CA, Stephanie Deal of Acworth, GA, and Elizabeth Allsop of Lithia Springs, GA.; one brother: Robert W. Allsop of Douglasville, GA; one sister: Betsy Allsop of Suwannee, GA; thirteen grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father and one sister Nancy J. Doenges.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black officiating.Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday.The family is at their respective homes.Floral arrangements are optional and special memorials may be made out to Mt.
