Obituary
Mr. Michael Robert Backer, 74, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home.
Born on September 6, 1942 in New York City NY, he was the son of the late Marty and Sara Backer.Mr. Backer was an avid golfer and was former owner/operator of Select Copier Company.He was a member of the Hartwell Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Yun Cha Backer; three sons: Jonathan Backer of Eugene OR, Robert Backer of Bakersfield CA and Joseph Backer of Cincinnati OH; two brothers: Eddie Backer and David Backer; a sister: Barbara Backer and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Michael's life will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
