Michael Dale Pitts, age 70, of Canon, passed away peacefully on Saturday night, December 28, 2024, at his home.

Born on July 20, 1954, in Canton, NC, Michael was the cherished son of the late Benalee Hannah Pitts Stuart and William Pitts Jr. Following the untimely passing of his father, Mike relocated to Atlanta with his mother. Despite the many fond memories he made with friends in Atlanta, his fondest recollections were of the times spent with his grandparents, Ben and Ruth Hannah, in Haywood County, NC.

After completing high school, Mike embarked on a successful career by founding Mike's Wholesale Flooring in Lavonia. He quickly earned a reputation for the integrity and quality of his products and services. Known for his plainspoken nature, Mike's quick wit and humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met, often leaving them with a smile and hearty laugh. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife of forty-five years, Andrea Maddux Pitts. He leaves behind his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Brad King. Additionally, he is survived by his uncle, Harold Hannah; cousins, Terry and Kelly Hannah; and friends he considered family, Dale Davis, Jose Escanuela, and Ismail Frutis.

In accordance with Mike's request, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2024 at the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Terry Meeks. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
