Mrs. Mildred Harris Lacy, age 83, of Lavonia, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Medical College of Georgia.
Born February 15, 1927 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late J. D. & Dollie Mae Buffington Harris; Mrs. Lacy was a supervisor with Stone manufacturing. She was a member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband: Harold Lacy; sisters: Josephine Vaughn & Janet Hamby; brothers: J. C. Harris, Robert Harris, & Junior Harris.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Diane & Leonard King of Lavonia; granddaughters: Angie Hicks of Hartwell & Stacey Lowe of Lavonia; 4 great-grandchildren: Brandon King, Nicci Hicks, Brittany McCormack, & Jeremy Hicks; sisters: Alice Mullinax of Atlanta, Ruth Thomas, Dot Vaughn, & Elene Crider all of Lavonia; brother: David Harris of Lavonia; several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Massengill officiating. Entombment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
The family will receive friend at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other time the family will be at the home.
