Mrs. Mildred (Mauldin) Lankford, age 86, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
Born April 26, 1931 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Guy Mauldin, Sr. and Fannie (Garland Mauldin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was a GA Leader and a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Mrs. Lankford was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Hugh Steed Lankford; daughter: Brenda Floyd; sister: Sue Thorton; and brothers: Guy Mauldin, Jr., John "Scut" Mauldin and James Mauldin.
She is survived by daughter: Betty Gladish of Carrollton; daughters & sons-in-law:Shirley Moorhead & her husband Mike of Bowersville & Melanie Roberts & her husband Rickey of Lavonia; son-in-Law: Terry Floyd of Lavonia; 6 grandchildren: Terrell Floyd, Christopher Royal, Michelle Jorschumb, Brandon Moorhead, Molly Harris, & Josh Roberts; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia with Rev. John Forbes, Dr. Joe Renfro and Mr. Terrell Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Terry Floyd, Christopher Royal, Brandon Moorhead, Luke Emmons, Ryder Emmons and Parker Moorhead.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.At other hours the family will be at the home of Terrell and Melanie Floyd 202 Floyd Road in Lavonia.
