Mrs. Minnie Lee Morris Haygood, 85 of Morris Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at her home.

Born on October 18, 1939, in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late James Morris and Mary Icie Heaton Morris.  Mrs. Haygood was formerly employed with Bellcraft Mfg. Co.as an Inspector and retired as a lunchroom worker at Mt. Olivet Elementary School and Hart Co. Middle School. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Church of God. She loved making quilts, going to the mountains and taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband: Jimmy R. Haygood; two sons: Timothy Haygood, Mark Haygood (Teresa) both of Hartwell; two daughters: Julie Haygood of Hartwell, Cindy Hynds (Mark) of Watkinsville GA;  two sisters: Rachel Dodson (Bill) of Hartwell, Mary Ann Dowell (Dennis) of Canon; four brothers: Charles Morris (Faye), Jimmy Morris, Ronnie Morris (Alice), Billy Morris all of Hartwell; eight  grandchildren: Paige Rowland (Aaron), Caroline Haygood, Makensie Gaines (Jeremiah), Jimmy Haygood, Suzanne Haygood, Marissa Haygood, Zachary Haygood (Sydney), Reese Hynds; three great-grandchildren: Charlotte Rowland, Ava Rowland and Oliver Gaines. Mrs. Haygood was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 25, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Lee Haygood will be Friday, October 25, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Allen officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery.
