Mozelle Della (Whitworth) Dye, age 91, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born August 12, 1927, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Tillman and Ossie Bell (Mosley) Whitworth. She worked as a seamstress at Carwood Manufacturing until their closing and retired from the Crossing Restaurant. Mrs. Dye was a member of the Lavonia Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: David Clark Dye; and brothers: Bennie Whitworth, Howard Whitworth, Dwight Whitworth, David Whitworth, Jerry Whitworth, Roy Whitworth, and Rev. Joe Whitworth.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Roger & Becky Dye; daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy & Truman Dyer and Sandra & Edward Deal; grandchildren: Holli Strickland & David, Tiffanie Littleton & Shane, Daniel Dyer & Jennifer, Timothy Dyer, Patrick Dyer, Elijah Deal, Kassadie Deal, Kristen Deal; and great-grandchildren: Rebecca and Shelley Strickland, Cade, Marley, and Shayna Littleton, Kaleigh and Malcom Dyer, Kain Dyer-Hewitt, Kyle Dyer, and Julian Dyer.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Lavonia Church of God with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
