Mrs. Helen Muriel (Finley) Miller, 89, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at AnMed Health in Anderson.
Born March 7, 1928, in the Gumlog Community of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Frank and Alma (Wilson) Finley. She was bookkeeper and payroll clerk for the Georgia Baptist Assembly and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School beginning at the age of 16.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Lynn Mason and Jimmy of Canon; son and daughter-in-law: Bart Miller and Tami of Greer, SC; grandchildren: Brett Miller (Hannah), Tara Miller, Dana Mason Norris (Jason) and Lee Mason (Samantha); sisters: Nell Bennett of Lavonia and Ann McCall of Atlanta; and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: William Steele (Bill) Miller; sisters: Pauline Colquitt, Edna Bowers and Jeanette Preston; and brother: Duard Finley.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m.At other times the families will be at their respective homes. In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
