Mrs. Myra A. Dunning of Hartwell GA passed away in Hartwell on Thursday, April 30, 2105 at her home.

Myra was born February 2, 1921 in Screven Co. GA, the daughter of George Pierce Boykin and Anna Wyant Boykin.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. "Bob" Dunning of 63 years along with eight brothers and sisters.She was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church and enjoyed the many friends she knew through the years.

Surviving is one son, Robert C. "Robbie" Dunning Jr. and his wife Susan Sheppard Dunning of Snellville GA.Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews residing in Georgia.Myra attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville GA and received a Bachelor of Science degree in July of 1942.Myra taught elementary school in the Atlanta City School System for 36 years and undoubtedly influenced the lives of hundreds of students.Upon her retirement, she sold real estate in Hartwell with Paradise Realty and again introduced many people to lake living until she retired.As life goes on, she will be missed and her love will continue to be felt every day.Her strength, her love of Jesus Christ, and her dedication to family will live forever.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating.Burial will be at the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Westminster SC. with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Charity of one's choice.
