Emma Myrtle (Christian) Harris, age 72, of Brunswick, formerly of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems of Brunswick.
Born November 27, 1946, in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruby Mae (Scoggins) Christian. Prior to her retirement she was a home healthcare worker. She was a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Monroe Harris; second husband: George Porter; son: Joseph David Harris; grandson: Joshua Shawn Harris; great-grandson: Jackson Kellis Connally; brothers: Gerald Christian, Billy Christian, Bobby Christian, and Johnny Christian; and sisters: Joyce Christian, Estelle Canady, Hazel Geide, and Sadie Christian.
She is survived by a son: Tim Harris of Brunswick; son & daughter-in-law: Jeff & Connie Harris of Carnesville; daughter & son-in-law: Angie & Ricky Ellenburg of Seneca, SC; grandchildren: Taylor & Brad Connally of West Union, SC, Trent Harris of Carnesville, and Kalie Alexa Ivester of Elberton; brothers & sisters-in-law: Kenneth & Carol Christian of Greenville, SC and Boyce & Louise Christian of Hartwell; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joey Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
