Mrs. Nancy Carey Culpepper, 72, of 3401 Gumlog Rd, Martin GA, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Cobb Health Care Center, Comer, GA.

Born August 12, 1936 in Franklin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Geneva Haley Carey.She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She is survived by: Husband, James L. "Jim" Culpepper of the home; Sons and daughter in laws, Max and Wanda McCollum and Mickey and Laura McCollum of Hartwell, GA; Stepchildren, Mike and Sandra Culpepper of Clarkesville, GA, Bill and Debbie Culpepper of Toccoa, GA, Cheryl and Steve Hanley of Royston, GA and Becky and Jimmy Bowers of Hartwell, GA; Brothers, James L. Carey and Henry Carey of Hartwell, GA; Sister, Martha Perry of Anderson, SC; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by her Parents; First Husband, Max Gerald McCollum; Brothers, Z.O. Carey, Thomas Carey, J.V. Carey, Joe Carey, Talmadge Carey and Willie Carey; Sisters, Amelia Brooks, Katie McClain and Sidney Bailey.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Jerry Durham will officiate.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, Carnesville, GA.
