Mrs. Nancy Burdette "Nancy B" O'Barr, age 58, of Lavonia, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born September 14, 1953, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Barbara Owens Burdette and the late Clyde Levi Burdette. Prior to retirement, she was a paraprofessional at Lavonia Elementary School. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother: Barbara Burdette; husband: John O'Barr; son: Justin Burdette; brother and sister-in-law: Keith & Jan Burdette; grandchildren: Levi & Ashlynn Burdette; niece: Kayla Burdette; and nephew: Bryan Burdette.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Smith and Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. At other hours the family will be at the home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Capital Improvement Fund, 250 Pleasant Grove Road, Lavonia, GA 30553.
