Mrs. Nannie Lou Ayers Sanders, age 84 of 296 Homestead Road, Hartwell, Ga., died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at her residence.
Born May 26, 1922 in Hart County she was the daughter of the late Hoyt Ayers and Elizabeth McDougald Ayers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church, former Girl Scout Leader, member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Hart County Camp of Gideon's International.
Survivors include: sons, Wayne Sanders and Eddie Sanders of Atlanta, Ga., and Randy Sanders of New Orleans, La., daughter, Phyllis Vining of Hartwell, brother, Forrest Ayers of Athens, Ga., sisters, Evie Haines, Stillwater, OK., and Emma Dean DeVito, Smyrna, Ga. Six grandchildren, Kimberly Vining, William Sanders, Kelly Coleman, Rachel Patterson, Ashley Sanders and Kate Haddock, great-grandchildren, Caylin Walp, Preston Walp, Bryce Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cleo Harris Sanders and a great grandchild, Trevor Patterson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the Hartwell First Baptist Church. Dr. Steve Williams and Rev. Carter Tucker will officiate. Entombment to follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will be at the home.
