Naomi Howell Parks, age 74 of 1447 High Sierra Drive, NW, Lawrenceville, Ga., died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at her residence.

Born October 23, 1933 in Hart County, she was retired from the CDC in Atlanta, where she was a secretary. Naomi was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Hartwell.

She is survived by; mother, Lorene Eavenson Howell of Hartwell, Ga., son, Bruce Parks, Anderson, S.C., daughter, Deborah Parks, Duluth, Ga., step-sons, Allen Parks, Hartwell, Ga., and Larry Parks, Dallas, TX, brothers, Joel Howell, Jackson, Ga., Chandler Howell and Doyle Howell of Bowersville, Ga., sisters, Mary Rhodes and Martha Human of Lavonia, Ga., grandchildren, Jennifer Michelle Parks, Ansleigh Parks and Michelle Parks. She was preceded in death by, father, Marvin T. Howell, son, John David Parks, and brother, Alston Howell.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel. Burial will be at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Connie Mack Bowers and Rev. Marvin Ferguson will officiate.

The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 to 2 prior to the service. The family will be at the home of her mother, 4111 Bowersville Highway, Bowersville, Ga.
