Obituary

Nathan Patrick Smith, age 57, of Canon, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital. Born on November 28, 1966, in Ft. Pierce, FL, he was the son of Betty Burgess Smith and the late Reverend C. Roy Smith.

Nathan recently retired from UPS as a delivery driver after 37 years of dedicated service. His trademark smile and friendly demeanor brightened the days of those he encountered. Nathan's passion was working; when he wasn't on his UPS route, he could be found working around the house with his beloved wife, Robin.

An enthusiastic gun collector and a devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, Nathan also cherished spending time with his family. He was a man of the Baptist faith, who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the company of loved ones.

Nathan is survived by his mother, Betty Burgess Smith of Martin; his wife, Robin Bellflower Smith of the home; children: Grant Patrick Smith of Commerce, James B. Boleman of Crawford, and Grace Boleman of Canon; sisters: Sharon Hansen of Loganville and Susan Smith of Martin; and his cherished canine companions: Coco, Luna, and Butterbean.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the home.
