Mr. Ned Lamar Stewart, 84, of Cedar Pond Road, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his home.

Born on October 28, 1933 in Canon GA, he was the son of the late Buell Stewart and Velma Bennett Stewart.Mr. Stewart was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass of Anderson, an auto mechanic and helped in his son's cabinet shop.He was also a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and was a U. S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife: Genelle Foster Stewart; two sons: Terry Stewart and Tony Stewart and his wife Kim all of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Nikki Stewart & Lucas, Blake Stewart and Sam Stewart and a great-grandchild: Ariel also survives.Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Jimmy Ray Stewart.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Pulliam and Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.The family will be at the home.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
