Mr. Harry Ned Strickland, 92, of Nancy Drive, Hartwell, husband of the late Mary R. Strickland, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson SC.

Born on April 29, 1924 in Royston, GA, he was son of the late Gordon Strickland and Alice Burden Strickland.Mr. Strickland was a retired owner/operator of Strickland Furniture Co. and a member of the Milltown Baptist Church. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include one son: Jerry Strickland (Diane) of Hartwell; two daughters: Susan Elkins (Clinton) of Dawsonville, Bonita Lee (Anthony) of Hartwell; one brother: Robert Strickland of Hartwell; seven grandchildren: Alex Strickland, Erik Strickland, Russell Orr, Angie Duff, Jeffrey Burney, Daven Burney, Candi Castleberry; and seventeen great-grandchildren.Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Risner Strickland; one brother: Thomas Strickland and one sister: Mildred Strickland.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
