Nena Louise (Jackson) Benfield Turney, age 62, of Gumlog, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Landmark Hospital in Athens.
Born September 17, 1955, in Texas, she was the daughter of the late George Quin, Sr. and Norma (Collins) Quin. Prior to disability, she worked as a convenience store manager. She was of the Christian faith. Nena leaves behind many friends and family to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Tanya Jackson.
She is survived by daughters: Camille Satayarekha, Jennifer Satayarekha, Lisa Toney, Cindy Hoggard, and Ashley Mitchell; son: James Benfield; brother: George Quin, Jr.; and numerous grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Art Gast officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City ~ Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours, they will be at their respective homes.
