Mr. Jonathan Nicholas "Nick" McCurley, age 36 of 609 McCurley Rd., Hartwell GA, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Clarke Co. GA.

Born on January 25, 1972 in Elbert Co. GA, he was the son of John O. McCurley Jr. and Peggy Worley Williams.Nick was a former member of the Georgia Army National Guard and of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include his parents: John O. "Johnny" McCurley Jr. and his wife Jackie of Hartwell and Peggy G. Williams her husband Russ of Durham NC; three son: Davis McCurley, Will McCurley and Ty McCurley all of Royston; a sister: Megan E. McCurley-Bailey of Hartwell; grandparents: Faye S. McCurley of Hartwell, Margaret Worley of Elberton, Horace and Lila Davis of Elberton also survive.Nick was preceded in death by grandparents: John O. McCurley Sr. and Lloyd G. Worley.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Kring officiating.Burial will be in the Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home of his father, Johnny and Jackie McCurley, 590 McCurley Rd, Hartwell.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Cokesbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 216, Hartwell, GA30643
