Mr. Nickalus E. "Nick" Vassar, 34, of 1834 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, died Friday, March 8 at his home.

Born on July 11, 1978 in Spartanburg SC, he was the son of J. Wallace Vassar and the late Barbara McCoy Vassar.He was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge # 690 and the Hartwell First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father and stepmother: Wallace and Margaret Vassar of Hartwell; a brother: Kevin Vassar and his wife Heidi of Hartwell; several nieces and nephews; an aunt: Libby V. Morris and her husband Dr. C. Van Morris of Athens and a step-grandmother: Mildred Vassar of Hartwell.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Connie Mack Bowers and Dr. Hugh Kirby officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
