Mrs. Nina Fleming Ayers, 85, of North Forest Avenue, Hartwell, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Stephens County Hospital, Toccoa.
Born on September 5, 1929 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Bart W. Fleming and Pettie Mae Carnes Fleming. Mrs. Ayers was a homemaker and a member of the New Harmony United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons: Kenneth Ayers of Hartwell, Mark Ayers and Betty of Canon, and Gary Ayers and Jennifer of Hartwell; one daughter: Cathy Ann Gibson of Hartwell; seven grandchildren: Angie Ivester, Sandy Ayers, Brittany Ayers, Lee Ayers, Jana Ayers, and Kaleigh Ayers, Alex Ivester; three great grandchildren: Twylie Suttles, Hayden Ivester, and Charleston Ayers; one great-great grandchild: Lilabith Virgillio; two sister-in-laws: Sylvene Fleming of Hartwell, Elizabeth Ayers Chandler of Savannah and Ilene Ayers of Fayetteville. Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Alexander Ayers; six brothers: Horace Fleming, Hugh Fleming, Larry Fleming, Fred Fleming, George Fleming, and Edgar Fleming; two sisters: Gladys Adams and Ruby Fleming, and one grandchild: Michael Suttles.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Randall Starrett officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family is at their respective homes.
