Mrs. Nina Elizabeth Richardson Bradford, 91, of Liberty Hill Road, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at her home.
Born on September 27, 1925 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late J. C. Richardson and Janie Lee Cordell Richardson.Mrs. Bradford was the widow of Isaac Leslie Bradford and preceded by a one brother that was not named at birth.She graduated from Hartwell High School and Rabun Gap Nacoochee College. After college, she worked in Atlanta building airplanes during WW II, then returned home to Hartwell, where she was a homemaker, giving up her career as a teacher to raise her children.Mrs. Bradford grew up in the Sardis Baptist Church and later became a charter member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.She was an active member as long as her health permitted.She served in the Nursery department for over 40 years.
Mrs. Bradford is survived by her children: Nancy & Keith McCurley, Lynn Cantrell, Ronald Bradford and Doug & Sheila Bradford; Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.Being an only child, she considered her husband's brothers and sisters hers.She is survived by two sisters: Dorothy (Cecil) Windham and Velma Rose (Edward) Boyd and brothers: Pete (Mary) Neal and Dozer (Joyce) Norris.She was preceded in death by Clarence & Juanita Bradford, Bud & Jan Bradford, Van & Nell Bradford, Myrtle & Johnny Kendrick, Flora Speed and Evie Ann Bradford.Mrs. Bradford has many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she was very close to.Family was very important.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Dale Carson and Rev. Mike Fitzpatrick officiating.Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 1543 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.
