Ms. Nora Lee Powers, age 87, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Brown Health and Rehab in Royston.
Born February 20, 1932 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Lincoln "Buck" Powers and Jessie Mae (Alewine) Stovall. She was a graduate of Lavonia High School. She owned and operated Hair Design and Nora's Boutique. Ms. Powers was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Joel and Mary Powers of Seneca, SC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: William Robert Powers; and stepfather: Liston D. Stovall.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
