Mrs. Norma Johnson Burger, 95, of 219 Pine Tree Trace, Lavonia, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at her home.

Born on August 3, 1917 in Crittenden, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alton C. Johnson and Pauline Marie Layer Johnson.She was a homemaker and a member of Hartwell First Presbyterian Church.She was also a member of the Loaf and Ladle Club and a former member of First Congregation Church in Keene, NH.

Survivors include her son, David L. Pursell and his wife Candy of Lavonia; and her daughter, Judith P. Marshall of Warrenville, IL; two step-sons: Frederick Burger of Arvada, CO, Charles Burger of Louviers, CO; two step-daughters: Raeleen Finn of Melbourne, FL, Libby Mears of Sitka, AK; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Burger was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Kenneth L. Pursell; hersecond husband, Herbert L. Burger, Jr.; one sister, Thelma Helfer; and one brother, Calvin Johnson.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Hartwell First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ted Worley and Stephen Nelms officiating.A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
