Mr. Joseph Norman "Norm" Gladish, age 84, of Demorest, formerly of Lavonia, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his home.
Born April 11, 1931, in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Joseph and Kristina (Sekerak) Gladish. Mr. Gladish was a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from BASF Corporation and Fiberweb Corporation. He was a member of St. Timothy Orthodox Church and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife: Betty (Lankford) Royal Gladish of the home; son: Timothy Alan Gladish of Lavonia; daughter and son-in-law: Catherine and Dondal Wood of Martin; daughter: Connie Taylor of Martin; nephew: Richard Hreaha of Cleveland OH; nieces: Renee Summers of Akron, OH, Sandy Huggins & Jennifer Gladdis: grandchildren: Tara Taylor & Ashley Mitchell; and great-grandchildren: Olivia, Tiara, Tarryn, and Lily. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death was preceded in death by his first wife: Joan (Bellamy) Gladish; brother: Theodore Gladish; and sisters: Mary Gladish & Marie Gladish Hreaha.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the St. Timothy Orthodox Church in Toccoa with Father Jacob Lee Kulp officiating. Burial will follow in the VFW Cemetery in Demorest. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a special ceremony concluding the visitation.
