Obituary
Bro. Olen M. Miller, 93, was called from this life to be with his Lord. He died peacefully in his sleep on April 11, 2020, at his residence at 442 Sunnybrook Lane, Hartwell, GA surrounded by his family after a six-month illness.
He was born to Moses J. and Maude E. Hochstetler Miller on March 22, 1927 in Nappanee, IN. He was married to Katie M. Yoder on November 4, 1948, his beloved companion of 71 years who survives. He is also survived by one son: Larry Miller (JoAnn) of Bowersville, GA; two daughters: Linda Webb (Bob) of Etowah, NC, and Deborah Miller of Sarasota, FL; a son-in-law: Larry Forry of Sarasota FL; two brothers: John W. Miller (Janealene) and Gilbert Lee Miller (Mary), all of Nappanee, IN; a sister-in-law: Anna Marie Miller of Marshfield WI; seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Those preceding him death were his parents; one daughter: Rhoda Forry of Sarasota, FL; one sister: Linda Miller (Homer) of Nappanee, IN; one brother: Herman M. Miller of Marshfield, WI; and two infant brothers.
Olen devoted many years to missions and ministry in Salem, IN and Shoals, IN before moving to Hartwell, GA in 2006. He was also involved with construction and truck driving for approximately 45 years. He was a minister and a member of the Mennonite Church.
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.There will be a private family viewing at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020.A graveside service honoring Olen's life will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartwell Mennonite Church Cemetery.
A memorial service celebrating Olen's life in Indiana will be announced at a later date when everyone can come together to share time with the family.Olen's family ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks ahead.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to those who have given them help and support during this time. They wish to say "Thank You" to Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care and tremendous help during his sickness.
