Mrs. Ona J. Stewart Evans, 95, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Brown Health & Rehab of Royston.

Born on November 18, 1922 in Lenoir, NC, she was the daughter of the late Allen L. Stewart and Minnie Holland Stewart.Mrs. Evans was a retired seamstress for the Gip's Manufacture Co. and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband: Ruben Alfred "Slim" Evans; three brothers: Tommy, James and Roby Stewart; and one sister: Rebecca Kotal.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The family will be at their respective homes.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
