Opal Ann Blume, 82, of Starr SC, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at her home.
Born on January 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Clara Ivester but was reared in the home of the late Uncle Hubert and Dora Harbin. Opal was a charter member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple, and was retired from Owens Corning.
She is survived by her three sons: Larry Allen of Anderson and his wife Shirley, Wayne Allen of Starr, and Ronald Allen of Anderson; sister: Betty of Oklahoma; brother: Billy Ivester of Tiger GA; brothers at heart: Julian of Hartwell GA, and Herman and Norma Harbin of Anderson; grandchildren: Niki Parks and his wife Cynthia Arthur of Starr, Kevin Allen and his wife Beth of Hartwell GA, Sheala Freeman; great-grandchildren: Brianna Parks of Starr, Blaire Allen of Hartwell, Keira Arthur of Starr, Brynn Allen of Hartwell, Ryder Freeman, Siara, Sheyanne, Savana Parnell, and Chase Simpson. She is also survived by Wade's children: Shirley and Stewart Nilsen of Mt. Pleasant, Marilyn and Jim Bull of Columbia, Roger and Stacey Blume of Anderson, Gary and Morgan Blume of Atlanta; eight step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wade Blume; relatives: Hollis Ivestor and Carl Stowe; and her twin: Othal.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 11am at Gethsemane Baptist Temple and will be officiated by Pastor Sam Duncan.
Prior to the service, the family will be having a visitation at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Monday evening, May 23, 2022, from 5-7pm.
Internment will take place at a later date at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with her late husband, Wade Blume.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
