Heyward Owen Dunn, Jr., age 65, of Conyers, GA, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Piedmont Rockdale County Hospital in Conyers, GA.
Born June 19, 1953, in Lavonia, he was the son of Heyward Dunn, Sr. and the late Zelma (Price) Davis. He graduated from Rockdale County High School and lived most of his life in Rockdale County. He was a talented artist and an avid fisherman. He was a brick mason by trade and a Baptist by faith. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister: Wanda Joy Duke.
He is survived by his father & step-mother: Heyward & Corrine Dunn; brother: Keith Dunn; sister: Christy Dunn; niece and nephew: Stefani & Michael Schwann; cousins: Cecilia Wehunt and Sherri & Randy Dodd; and longtime friends: Patty Treadwell, Dick Carstens, and Becky & Stuart Heck.
The graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation (kidneyfund.org).
