Pamela Cawthon Spivey, age 69, of Lavonia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Born June 17, 1955, in Franklin County, Pam was the cherished daughter of the late James and Shelby Ertzberger Cawthon. She graduated from Franklin County High School and pursued further education, which paved the way for her career.
Pamela dedicated many years to her role as a customer service representative at American Express, from which she ultimately retired. A member of Lavonia First Baptist Church, Pam's faith and community involvement were important aspects of her life. This led to her passion for politics. This led her to a stint as a congressional aide in Washington, D.C. and a grassroots activist.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her husband, Mark Spivey. Pamela leaves behind her devoted caregivers Christy Tullis, Taylor Heaton, Brittany McGuire, Kelly Pass, and Angela Whidby, as well as several cousins and cherished friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Pam's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. In lieu of flowers, the memorial donations may be made to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Road, Lavonia, GA 30553.
