Patricia Ackerman Hungate, 63, 7510 E. Main St. Bowersville, GA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 19, 2006. Mrs. Hungate was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA and member of the Gideons International, Lady's Auxiliary with the Hart County Camp.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Hungate of the home and her mother, Mrs. Louise Blizard of Calabash, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Erbert Ackerman and sister, Ms, Doris Ackerman both of Laurinburg, NC. Also surviving Mrs. Hungate is foster daughter, Mrs. Donna Tomlin of Charlottesville, VA and grandson, Mathew Tomlin of Fredericksburg, VA., surrogate granddaughter, Ms. Amy Moore and sons Anthony and Zachary of Neosho, MO., and a host of cousins, mend and neighbors.
Mrs. Hungate was employed in the Accounts Payable Department of Columbia Farms of Georgia, Lavonia, GA. having retired from there in September 2005.
The body is at Strickland Funeral home in Hartwell, GA where friends will be received Friday night between 7:00 and 9:00 pm.
Funeral services will be at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell on Saturday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. with Revs Terry Meeks and Bill Davison officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 59, Hartwell, GA 30643.
